Today, Joe Biden kicked a hornet’s nest when he used the word “negro” when referring to black baseball legend Satchel Paige. Many people found this in very poor taste, and others were downright offended. Some members of the propaganda press tried to claim Biden didn’t call Mr. Paige a “Great Negro,” but he clearly did, we can all hear what he said. We’re not idiots. Now, how Joe meant it, or if it came out wrong, that’s another issue that has yet to be clarified by the White House. But Biden is a grown man, and the supposed “president” so he has to be responsible for the words that dribble out of his mouth, confused or not.
I’m sorry, I know we’ve all lowered expectations to ridiculous levels these days, but that’s the bare minimum this befuddled man should be able to provide to the American people.
Here’s the video in question. Joe Biden says (and I quote): “I’ve adopted the attitude of the great negro at the time, pitcher of the Negro leagues, who went on to become a great pitcher in the pros — in Major League Baseball — after Jackie Robinson. His name was Satchel Paige

The rather bizarre irony in all of this is that back in 2016, just before Obama left office for good, he actually signed a law eliminating the words “negro” and “oriental” from federal law.
That means that the federal government no longer uses the terms “Negro” and “Oriental.”
The official terms are now “African-American” and “Asian-American.”
Obama’s bill passed with bipartisan support.
From PBS
IN 1790, THE U.S. CENSUS COUNTED PEOPLE BY LUMPING THEM INTO ONE OF THREE CATEGORIES – SLAVES, FREE WHITE FEMALES AND MALES, OR ALL OTHER FREE PERSONS.
BY 1980, THE CATEGORIES HAD GONE THROUGH NEARLY 20 DEVIATIONS. PEOPLE COULD IDENTIFY AS ONE OF 15 POSSIBILITIES, INCLUDING NOW-DEROGATORY WORDS SUCH AS “NEGRO.” THESE CLASSIFICATIONS MIGHT SHED SOME LIGHT ON WHY SOME FEDERAL LAWS FROM THAT TIME CONTAIN OUTDATED VERBIAGE THAT’S NOW BEING ADDRESSED.
AFTER IT WAS UNANIMOUSLY PASSED WITH 380 VOTES, PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SIGNED H.R. 4238 ON FRIDAY, WHICH AMENDS TWO FEDERAL ACTS FROM THE ’70S THAT DEFINE “MINORITIES” WITH TERMS THAT ARE NOW INSENSITIVE OR OUTDATED.
THE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY ACT HAS FOR DECADES DESCRIBED “MINORITIES” AS, “A NEGRO, PUERTO RICAN, AMERICAN INDIAN, ESKIMO, ORIENTAL, OR ALEUT OR IS A SPANISH SPEAKING INDIVIDUAL OF SPANISH DESCENT.”
THE NEW BILL CHANGES THE LANGUAGE TO, “ASIAN AMERICAN, NATIVE HAWAIIAN, A PACIFIC ISLANDER, AFRICAN AMERICAN, HISPANIC, PUERTO RICAN, NATIVE AMERICAN, OR AN ALASKA NATIVE.” THERE’S ALSO SIMILAR LANGUAGE IN THE LOCAL PUBLIC WORKS CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT AND INVESTMENT ACT.
I guess this is something else that Joe Biden has forgotten about?
Maybe someone on his team can remind him, so he stops offending people and embarrassing himself.
