Police officials said the 22-year-old daughter, later identified as Jackalyn, reportedly took a knife and stabbed her 36-year-old mother in the chest during an argument over her relationship with one of her friends.
Judge Charles sentenced Jackalyn to 30 years in prison. Jury found Jackalyn guilty on one count of manslaughter with a weapon or firearm in her mother’s, Amanda, death.
Assistant State Attorney Samantha reportedly said: “I’m grateful we were able to deliver justice on behalf of Amanda and her family. I hope they can find some solace in knowing that Jackalyn couldn’t escape justice, and that every word spoken on behalf of Amanda was heard.” Read the full story here ▶
