After a raging storm took out the power inside her home, Erika Poremski lit a candle to illuminate her household.
Afterwards, she stepped outside for a moment to charge her phone using her phone.
“I just heard her crying and i couldn’t get to her,” Poremski said. “I tried really hard, everyone in the neighborhood tried. They were kicking the doors in and kicking the windows out.
I couldn’t (get her out). Nobody could.”
Poremski ended up with burns on her hands and face when she attempted to get back into her home after it caught fire, she tried to get back in to save her young 8-month-old daughter Viviana.
