Parenthood is the most responsible full-time job a person can have in life, as it requires lots of love, patience, care, effort, and time. Parents are the ultimate teachers in life, and their role is to lead, guide, inspire, and cheer their children.
Yet, it is highly challenging, as no one knows what the day will bring, so parents should always know how to act in an unexpected situation, with no briefing or preparation beforehand.
Raising a future adult is undoubtedly rewarding, but at the same time, it can be mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausting.
Therefore, an American mummy blogger, fully aware of this, decided to praise all parents and their attempts to be successful in raising their children, and to remind them that they are doing the right thing, no matter if they feel like crying from time to time.
This mother-of-two, Bethany Jacobs, wrote an open letter to ‘the mom hiding in the bathroom’ on her Facebook page, Latched and Attached, which captured the emotions of parents trying to give their best and made parents nodding in agreement.
Jacobs claims that one of the biggest challenges for mothers is overcoming the pressure they put on themselves. She says that they put on social masks and then judge other mums based on what they wish they could appear to be, even though they are so far from perfect too.
She says that she initially wrote the post to herself, without being aware of the number of other mums it will inspire, as they needed to hear the same thing.
For the mom hidden in the bathroom, because she needs a few minutes of tranquility while slipping tears from her eyes.
For the mom who is so tired that she feels she can’t continue, that she would give anything for a moment of peace.
For the mom who cries in her room for having scolded the kids for nonsense that makes her feel guilty.
For the mom who orders pizza because she didn’t have the time to make dinner again as she expected.
For the mom who feels alone, even when she’s accompanied.
You’re worth a lot.
You are important.
You are enough.
This is a stage, a crazy and challenging stage for all moms.
But in the end, everything will be worth it. For now, it’s hard. Difficult in many and different ways for each of us. We don’t talk, but we all fight, you’re not alone.
You are enough.
You give the best of you.
Those little eyes that observe you think you’re perfect, they think you’re more than perfect.
Those little hands that ask for your arms, they think you’re the strongest and you can conquer the world.
Those little mouths eating what you cook, they think you’re the best.
Those little hearts looking for yours, they want nothing but you.
Because you are enough for them, you are more than enough, mom.
You are wonderful…
