Mom allegedly posed as her 13-year-old daughter at middle school

A Texas mother was placed in handcuffs after she allegedly posed as her 13-year-old daughter for close to a day at her middle school. According to the New York Post, 30-year-old Casey Garcia thought it was a good idea to try a social experiment on YouTube to prove how there’s a lack of security at the school.

“I’ve been here all day, face to face with teachers,” said Garcia in a video posted to YouTube. “Do I look like a seventh-grader? No? Cool. Awesome.”

The videos reportedly show Garcia walking through the hallways, sitting in classrooms, eating lunch in a cafeteria and talking to school staff — including the principal at one point. All oblivious to the fact she wasn’t a 13-year-old girl.

In another video, Garcia stated she posed as a teen to show how tighter security was needed in schools. She claims she didn’t think she should’ve gotten that far into the school.

“This is about our children and the safety of our children,” said Garcia. “That’s all I’m trying to do is prevent another mass shooting.”

Garcia’s experiment ended after she was caught in the act and arrested by police. The pseudo-teen was charged with suspicion of criminal trespassing and tampering with government records, CBS 12 reported.

According to Insider, Garcia was held on a $7,908 bond.
