Mother, who grabbed a knife and stabbed her 4-year-old daughter willfully, unlawfully and with malice aforethought, and left the child to be found by her father, had reportedly been struggling with depression and mental illness, family friend told authorities!

According to the police officials, the mother, later identified as 34-year-old Mina was arrested and later charged with murder with a dangerous weapon and child abuse resulting in death after she reportedly killed her 4-year-old daughter Sana and tried to kill her 10-year-old son, who was not identified due to his age.

Police officials also believe the fatal stabbing was premeditated. The children’s dad, Fahim, reportedly found his daughter and called the authorities.
