Prosecutors said the 30-year-old mother, Ana, and the 38-year-old dad, Jessy, were both sentenced to 11 years in prison after they pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and child abuse (disregard for life).
According to the court documents, their 2-year-old daughter reportedly died after she ingested fentanyl and tranquilizer.
Last year, deputies responded to the parent’s home and found the 2-year-old unresponsive. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene, court records say. Read the full story here ▶
