Sometimes, grandparents are tasked with raising their grandchildren.
Ms. Ella is one of those people.
She’s 72 and a military widow.
She’s also raising her six great-grandchildren on her own.
She teaches them life lessons, cooks for them, and cleans up after them.
Ms. Ella doesn’t go into a lot of detail about how she came to raise the children.
She was a safe haven for them when they needed shelter and someone to love them as they were in a situation at home that was not the best.
Even though Ms. Ella agreed to take the children to live with her, the family’s home was not in the best condition.
It was starting to fall apart, and there was little money to have it repaired.
It was also difficult to pay the monthly bills and get enough food to put on the table for herself and her grandchildren.
She has been under an enormous amount of stress and has prayed that a miracle comes along to save them.
The Christmas holiday was a challenge.
Ms. Ella didn’t know how she was going to give the kids a good Christmas because she didn’t have the money for gifts.
That’s when her best friend in another state stepped in to offer the miracle that she needed for the season.
A local news station stepped in to give the kids the best Christmas as people cleaned, gave food, donated furniture, and donated appliances.
They also gave the kids toys, clothes, and gift cards so that they could purchase what they want and need.
