There are people in this world that do the most horrific things towards animals. They must think that doing so gives them some sort of superiority. Because they choose to hurt and mistreat an innocent animal, they feel a sense of power seeing as though they control the life of this animal. This thinking is sick and weak. This was the mindset of one dog owner as this poor dog was left chained up in the freezing cold for four years without a day of warmth.
Each year around one million animals are hurt, mistreated, abused or killed, as reported by the Humane Society of the United States. Dog abuse is a serious problem. Due to so many sick individuals living out their abusive fantasies on their dogs, it is the job of heroic nonprofit and animal rescue organizations to help these loving animals. Once of the places that do just that is Animal Advocates.
Diesel is one of those dogs. And his story of entrapment out in the cold of the frigid Canadian Yukon province, where temperatures regularly drop to -40 degrees, is a true hero’s journey. When the good people at Animal Advocates heard about Diesel, they rushed to the property where they found him chained up outside. But that was hardly the worst of his plight, the dog had also been kicked in the face by a horse, and the owner simply shrugged it off. Diesel has also gotten into a fight with another dog and suffered a deep, shoulder wound. You can see the dried blood around the festering wound in the photo of him tied up.
