A transgender woman who was being held as an inmate in New York City’s Rikers Island prison has been accused of raping another female inmate during their internment.
The transgender inmate, who has a history of violent offenses, is believed to have raped another woman after the pair finished their shower in the women’s section of the prison facility – mirroring the rise in violent crimes that have continued to plague New York City and other large metropolitan areas across the United States since the pandemic struck America under the leadership of former President Donald Trump.
