Two people died and a third suffered injuries in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Highlands Ranch.
The crash happened about 9 p.m. Friday on South University Boulevard near Quebec Street, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver lost control and the vehicle left the roadway, going down a steep embankment and crashing into a tree, the sheriff’s office said. Three people were thrown from the vehicle. Two died and one was taken to a hospital.
Investigators believe excessive speed was a factor in the crash. Eastbound lanes of University were closed by the incident and reopened at 3 a.m. An investigation is ongoing.
