10-Year-Old With Terminal Brain Cancer Receives Thousands Of Cards From Strangers For Christmas

As we all know, Christmas is well-known to be the time of the year where we all indulge in the spirit of giving and bringing joy to others.

You will often find that doing your best to show those around you kindness and love will bring you more happiness than you would have otherwise gotten on your own.

It can be amazing to see just how uplifting a positive word or two can be for anyone – or in the case of this girl, how heartwarming receiving Christmas cards are for her!

Oliviah Hall is a 10-year-old junior reporter with Fox 8 in the state of Ohio, has a grim diagnosis – an incredibly aggressive variant of brain cancer known as glioblastoma.

Brain cancer in and of itself often already spells a certain doom for most unlucky patients, since once it reaches a certain part of the brain, the disease becomes untreatable.

In Oliviah’s case, the aggressiveness of her cancer means she reaches that stage sooner than expected.

In only a year, the girl’s family has gone from fighting the disease to making the most of what little time she has left.

After ending her cancer treatment, the girl is now living in her family home in Ashtabula under hospice care.

There, Oliviah has a special Christmas wish she hopes people will be kind enough to grant – to receive as many Christmas cards as humanly possible.

And as it turns out, the people of the United States have heard and have -and still are! – busy granting this girl’s Christmas wish.

Including letters and well wishes from personal friends and family, she has also received all sorts of kind words from friends she has made at Fox 8 and in the hospital. But wait – there’s more!

In fact, there is so much more that as of present Oliviah has what may possibly be over 3,000 letters and cards from well-wishers all over the country, and the kind words are still flowing in!

It has obviously given this little girl an absolute delight to see her house slowly fill up with stacked boxes full of heartwarming messages.

It certainly brings a whole new meaning to the power of words, and shows just how there is an overwhelming number of people who are happy to support this cheerful young girl.

This doesn’t mean that Oliviah isn’t in need of letters anymore, however!

Since the goal is to have as many as possible by Christmas, this means everyone will still have until the 25th of this coming December to make this girl’s Christmas wish as big as it can possibly ever get.

On top of that, you would be showing your support for this 10-year-old girl and her family, and making her incredibly happy.

Sounds like a great thing to do at this time of the year, when bringing hope and joy is the theme of the season.
