An elderly pensioner, 67, who tried to rob three banks using a threatening hand-written stick-up note has been jailed.
Alan Slattery carried out a series of frightening bank robberies in East Sussex, targeting two National Building Society branches in St Leonards and Bexhill-on-Sea, as well as a NatWest branch in Bexhill. Between 2 p.m. and 3:20 p.m. on February 10, he reportedly passed staff threatening notes demanding large amounts of cash and warning that someone could get hurt if they refused.
