A motorcyclist has died in a two-vehicle crash in Aurora.
The crash happened about 10:15 a.m. at the intersection of East Smith and Chambers roads, the Aurora Police Department said in a news release.
The driver of a Chevrolet Cavalier was westbound on Smith, making a left-hand turn into a business just east of the Chambers when the motorcyclist, on a Honda 600CVR eastbound on Smith, ran into the passenger side of the Chevrolet.
The 25-year-old motorcyclist, an Aurora man, died at the scene. He’ll be identified by the Adam’s County Coroner’s Office after family has been notified. The 66-year-old driver of the Chevrolet, who remained on scene, was uninjured.
Smith Road was closed for four hours between Airport Boulevard and Chambers because of the crash, police said. An investigation is ongoing. Saturday’s crash is the 27th traffic-related fatality this year in Aurora.
