Pedophile Has Chance At Freedom, But Inmates Ensure He Won’t

A sexual predator who faced over 15,000 years in prison for 865 counts of child rape was pleasantly surprised when he received a much shorter sentence. However, even though he could have been released after serving the minimum, his fellow inmates made sure that won’t ever happen.

Garrick Landon Bloom, 48, rocked Florida when he was charged with 865 counts of child rape after being taken into custody in Tallahassee. The child predator was arrested for grooming a 5-year-old boy and subjecting him to repeated sexual abuse for years. He faced 216 counts of rape of a child, 216 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, 216 counts of aggravated indecent assault of a child, 120 counts of statutory sexual assault of a child 11 years or older, 96 counts of statutory sexual assault, and a single count of endangering the welfare of a child, Newsweek reports.

What initially appeared to be a case that could result in an extraordinarily long prison sentence took an unexpected turn when the court imposed a much shorter term.
