Different experiences in life have made us skeptic, insecure, and afraid to pursue our goals in life.
Yet, I have some good news: Guys, dreams do come true. And yes, there are still kind people out there. And the story of one local waitress proves this.
Every day, Denny’s waitress Adrianna Edwards walks seven miles to work and seven miles home again for every shift she works at the restaurant. She simply explained that she simply did what she had to do, as she had bills to pay
Yet, one day, while enjoying breakfast on Tuesday morning in Galveston, Texas, a couple she was serving heard the story of her lengthy commute, and the fact that Edwards was saving to buy a car.
Edwards served breakfast and was kind enough to offer them some extra ice-cream.
When done, the couple left the restaurant and went to nearby Classic Galveston Auto Group on Broadway Street where they bought a car.
A few hours later, they returned with the keys to surprise Edwards with a 2011 Nissan Sentra along with a note, instantly transforming her five-hour walk to a quick 30-minute commute by car.
The couple wanted to remain anonymous, and the woman explained:
“I gave her a note that said, ‘I know it’s Thanksgiving, but I said, ‘Merry Christmas,’ and that, hopefully, someday she’ll just pay it forward.
She up, which made me happy that she was so moved by that.”
She admitted that the first thing she did the next morning was to make sure the couple’s generosity wasn’t all a dream. She looked out her window, to see her new car, the kind people bought for her.
The couple’s only condition was that she pay their kindness forward.
Edwards will now be able to start college earlier than planned:
“ When I see somebody in need, I’ll probably be more likely to help them out (and) to do everything that I can to help them out.”
