AOC Accuses 17 Senators Of Racism

Much to the outrage of Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Senate voted 67 to 32 to pass a bipartisan infrastructure bill estimated to be worth $1 trillion. The agreed-upon bill contains $550 billion for spending, which is a lot less than what progressives demanded to help spruce up the collapsing country before its roads, bridges, and other vital infrastructure falls apart, and people are hurt.

Now, Ocasio-Cortez and other “Squad” members had accused Senators of excluding people of color from last-minute negotiations when they agreed upon the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill in lieu of a much larger one that had been proposed. The Squad also criticized the Democratic Senator of Arizona, Senator Kysten Sinema, for opposing the $3.5 trillion “human infrastructure” bill because she said it would be too expensive.

The bipartisan infrastructure bill passed with a vote of 67-32 in the Senate. Many of the country’s most powerful Republicans, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, voted in favor of the infrastructure bill that could help improve the quality of the roads, bridges and other vital infrastructure Americans rely on every day of their lives. McConnell was one of seventeen Republicans to support the bill to rebuild America.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants Congress to first act upon the $3.5 trillion infrastructure bill that passed the House because it should be part of a budget “reconciliation” process that could help Americans invest more into the infrastructure that supports the economy and society as we know it.

Senator Sinema was skewered by AOC for failing to vote for the full amount of the bill, although Sinema is expected to vote along party lines for the procedural vote to advance the budget.

Nevertheless, Ocasio-Cortez, the young firebrand Democrat out of New York City, was quick to criticize her colleague for compromising.

“Good luck tanking your own party’s investment on childcare, climate action, and infrastructure while presuming you’ll survive a three vote House margin – especially after choosing to exclude members of color from negotiations and calling that a ‘bipartisan accomplishment,’” AOC tweeted on Wednesday.

Other Squad members also took turns criticizing Sinema.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, “Sinema seems not to care that her own state is flooding, the west is burning, and infrastructure around the country is crumbling. Sinema is more interested in gaining GOP friends and blocking much-needed resources than fighting for her residents’ future.”

Tlaib added, “We didn’t elect Sinema as President, and we won’t let her obstruction put a Republican in the Oval Office in 2024. It’s the reconciliation bill or GOP controlling every level of government again, period.”

The massive infrastructure package first proposed by Senator Bernie Sanders included money for universal Pre-K, free college tuition, and a slew of other programs that would have benefited millions of Americans across all fifty states. Sanders claimed that the full infrastructure package would completely transform the landscape of America for good as people would be lifted up with basic programs that would improve the quality of life of millions.
