Well, the “GoFundMe” didn’t turn out how they had hoped, did it?
This 18 year old ADULT is charged with shooting 3 people.
He shot a 15-year-old child 4 times, and he’s in the ICU in critical condition.
Yet, even so, Timothy Simpkins has been released on bail, just in time to go home and have a party, and then get a “GoFundMe” fired up, even though his family lives in a new $400K dollar house.
Breitbart reported that an attorney launched a GoFundMe campaign for alleged Texas high school shooter Timothy George Simpkins with a statement from this mother claiming Simpkins is traumatized.
The Daily Mail reported the GoFundMe account was launched by Dallas-area attorney Kim T. Cole on Thursday with the goal of raising $25,000 for Simpkins.
GoFundMe took the account down once the fund was brought to their attention — total donations: $150.00
A statement from Simpkins’ mother was attached to the GoFundMe page. That statement said, in part:
What you don’t know is that Timothy was robbed at gunpoint and stripped of his possessions a couple of weeks ago … And the unfortunate backstory is that Timothy’s father was brutally beaten to death. This fact definitely heightened Timothy’s fear for his life.
She concluded, “My son has gone through a very traumatic experience. He needs counseling and therapy.”
Many folks think the family was trying to cash in and strike it rich.
But the family got a big surprise because before the fundraiser could even get $200.00 dollars raised it was removed from the website.
A spokesperson for GoFundMe stated that less than $150 was raised and all donors were promptly refunded.
Gofundme also stated that the fundraiser for the alleged school shooter violated GoFundMe terms and services.
Gee, ya think?
Timothy’s fundraiser page was launched on Oct.7th by Dallas attorney Kim T. Cole and was called “Justice for Timothy Simpkins.”
Good grief.
It also featured a note from Timothy’s mother that claimed that the teen was being bullied by his schoolmates.
Meanwhile, non-violent January 6th attendees are still rotting in jail 9 months later.
