Man Accused of Killing Ex-Girlfriend’s 2-Year-Old Daughter Avoids Possible Death Penalty After Prosecutors’ Shocking Decision

According to the court documents, the 26-year-old defendant, Rashad, who prosecutors say kidnapped his ex-girlfriend’s daughter and strangled the child to death, will not face the death penalty after prosecutors declined to seek the death penalty against him.

According to the court documents, the man reportedly used a cellphone charging cord to strangle the young girl to death.

The fatal incident occurred on July 2, 2023. The responding officers discovered that Rashad reportedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend. Rashad then stabbed the woman and se-ually assaulted her.

What began with an alleged attack on Rashad’s ex-girlfriend took an even more horrifying turn when investigators uncovered what prosecutors say happened to her young daughter.
