Although three-year-old Aziz Ahmed was playing in his backyard in Carteret, New Jersey, he was brutally killed in a dog attack. The neighbor’s two “wild” pit bulls escaped from their property and targeted Aziz in a vicious attack that left him ravaged. Aziz’s mother tried to rescue him but was unable to stop the pair of dogs from dishing out deadly force – and the boy’s mother was also critically injured by the pooches.
On Wednesday, footage captured the moment Aziz’s father, Tanveer Ahmed, learned that the boy had been mauled to death. He was reminded of the carnage when he entered the family home on Laurel Street in the New Jersey town only to see a red pair of sneakers his beloved son had left behind.
According to relatives of the deceased boy, Aziz’s mother (Ahmed’s wife) warned the dog owners about the canines on two separate occasions. She told them that she did not feel safe around the dogs and suggested that they posed a threat to her son.
Footage from the scene shows that the dog owners used cinder blocks in a lame attempt to block their dogs from entering the yard that belonged to the Ahmeds’.
Aziz perished at the scene of the dog attack. Footage from the sky showed paramedics trying to revive the boy with chest compressions as they hauled him away from the yard in a gurney. Meanwhile, his mother was also taken away from the scene by first responders.
A coworker of Aziz’s father said that the parents lost one of their three sons.
“They are from Pakistan originally, and he’s a great family guy. He has three little boys,” coworker Jack Beyda told Patch. “He’s very, very hardworking. He worked very hard to provide for his family, and he saved up enough money to move out here from Brooklyn; he saved up enough to buy this little house.”
Carteret Mayor Dan Reiman shared a statement to the media that spoke about the deadly dog attack.
“Our prayers are with the family affected by a dog attack at a private residence on Laurel St,” he wrote. “Thank you to the first responders who rushed in to attend to the victims, who are being transported by helicopter for emergency medical care. That’s all the information we have at this time.”
Do you think the dog owners should face criminal charges?
