A porn-addicted pedophile who had been serving 17 years in prison for sexually abusing children and babies has been found dead in prison.
Jared Perry, 32, was discovered dead on November 3 while he was in jail at the Parc Prison in Bridgend, Wales, according to Daily Mail.
Perry had been jailed in January after he pleaded guilty to numerous sexual and indecent assaults on children. It is believed that Perry had tried to take his own life and later died while he was in the hospital. He was also said to be ‘extremely high risk’ to young children while he was in prison.
According to the deputy director of HMP Parc, Ian Coles, “On 3 November 2019, Mr. Perry passed away in hospital. As with all deaths in custody, this will be investigated by the Prison and Probation Ombudsman.”
The Swansea Crown Court was made aware of how Perry had abused both boys as well as girls. A few of the children he had targeted were less than six months old. The court heard that the authorities only came to know about the assaults after Perry had walked into the Aberystwyth police station and requested to speak to an officer.
Over seven interviews, Perry confessed to what he had done. Perry had been brought up in a very religious environment and from an early age used to watch pornography. He later became addicted to porn. Initially, he would watch adult porn but began to move towards images of young children.
Perry also started to use drugs and was described as a “controlling and manipulative” individual. He admitted to 10 counts of indecent assault and sexual assault on a child under 13. The judge told Perry, “I believe without a doubt you present an extremely high risk of sexually assaulting children in the future”.
The Prisons & Probation Ombudsman started to look into Perry’s death and will publish a report at the end of the inquest.
