The Mom Who Burned Her Son Alive Gets A Shocking Sentence From The Judge

A mother from Russia burned her eight-year-old son alive because the boy told his stepfather that his mother cheated on him. The 32-year-old mother, Anastasia Baulina, murdered her own son because she was furious that the boy had revealed her cheating way. The boy was set on fire after he told his stepfather that Baulina had cheated on him with another man.

Baulina lived in the Kursk region of Russia, which is along the border of Ukraine to the south. She worked as a cashier and was furious with her son for sharing the truth about her affair with his stepfather. Once she learned that the eight-year-old boy had spoken the truth, the mother doused the child in gasoline and set him on fire to kill him.

During her appearance in court, the young Russian mother tried to convince the jury that she never meant to kill her son. She explained that the gasoline and fire were meant to serve as a punishment for the boy for telling her business to the stepfather. The mother explained that after she set her son on fire, she quickly put out the flames with snow that was nearby.

However, the truth was different from what Baulina stated. Her daughter, 12-year-old Natalya, explained that it was actually the stepfather, Pavel, 35, who put out the flames that were consuming the little boy’s body.

The little girl explained to the court that her mother forced her to watch her brother get burned alive. The mom made her watch as she doused her brother with gasoline and then set the boy on fire with a match. The girl even explained that the mother encouraged the little girl to “let’s go watch how the scarecrow burns” after she set the boy up for his death.

Baulina was allowed to conduct a reenactment with Russian police. During the incident, she poured gasoline over a dummy’s head to show how she covered her little boy with the highly flammable substance. She struggled to light a match, but when she did, she tossed it onto the dummy to show how she set the gasoline on fire.

After she set the boy on fire, the Russian mother explained that he ran around the property until he fell down. That’s when she claimed that she covered the boy with snow to extinguish the flames. But that doesn’t seem to be the whole truth. Baulina even said that although her son’s hands were on fire, he managed to use them to help extinguish the flames.

However, 12-year-old Natalya says it was Pavel who put out the fire. He heard the child screaming from inside the house and ran outside to try to save him.

“I will teach you to keep your mouth shut,” the Russian mother allegedly told her son while burning him alive.

Natalya said her brother begged for his life before his mother killed him, saying: “please, don’t.” But she set him on fire nonetheless.

Baulina was sentenced to a meager 15 years behind bars for what she did to her son.

She still refuses to admit her crime.

“I’m not guilty of premeditated murder, for sure… Yes, I wanted to scare my child, but I did not wish him dead. So it was destined by God for him and me.”
