Wisconsin Bar Brawl Between Bartender And Patrons Ends With Shots Fired, Two Women Arrested

A bar fight in Wisconsin ended with a shooting and two women arrested, according to authorities.

Around 11 p.m. on Feb. 8, Jamie Payton, 39, and Olivia Abarca, 34, got into an argument with a bartender, police in Janesville said.

When the dispute between the women and the bartender escalated into a physical disturbance, staff escorted the two women out of the bar.

At the same time, an off-duty police officer passing by the scene heard gunshots ring out in the parking lot and saw two women run into a nearby apartment, authorities said.

Multiple shell casings were recovered from outside the bar.

After detectives searched the apartment the women ran into and allegedly found a gun, THC and drug paraphernalia located in an area two children had access to, they placed Payton and Abarca under arrest.

Abarca was charged with disorderly conduct, battery, and bail jumping.

Payton faces charges of disorderly conduct while armed, battery, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, child neglect, and intoxicated use of a firearm.

Abarca was charged and released, but Payton was being held at the Rock County Jail, officials said.
