On November 1, 2016, 25-year-old Thomas McClellan was home alone with his five-year-old stepdaughter, Luna Younger, at their apartment in Holt, Michigan. Luna’s mother, Victoria King, was at work. McClellan was taking a nap when Luna woke him up to ask for something to eat. He told her it was not dinner time.
That should have been the end of it. A tired parent says no. A child pouts. Everyone moves on. But Luna sat on the floor and refused to leave his room. McClellan later told investigators that she gave him “too much attitude” and that it “tipped him over the edge.”
