A woman from Barrow-in-Furness has been sentenced to prison after orchestrating a series of false allegations that led to widespread panic, reputational damage, and dozens of reported crimes in her community.
Eleanor Williams was convicted on March 14, 2023, of eight counts of perverting the course of justice, following a ten-week trial. The jury returned a guilty verdict after just over three hours of deliberation. She was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison.
