Gunman Opens Fire Outside Israeli Embassy in Munich. Police Drop Him in a Hail of Bullets

A lone gunman was shot and killed this morning by German police after he began shooting outside the Israeli embassy in Munich. The attacker, identified as a Bosnian-born Austrian citizen, opened fire on the consulate building using a vintage rifle fitted with a bayonet. Police responded within seconds.

Five officers fired at the man. He died on the spot with his weapon lying beside him. No police officers were injured. No embassy staff were harmed. The only casualty was the attacker himself.
