The crash happened about 3:10 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the highway near East Colfax Avenue, according to the State Patrol.
A 2006 Infiniti was heading east with four people in the vehicle when the driver lost control and it rolled, coming to a rest on the highway on its roof, said Sgt. Troy Kessler of the State Patrol. The driver of the Infiniti was ejected.
A truck heading east came upon the crash, and the driver tried to avoid the wreckage, Kessler said. The four people who had been in the Infiniti had gotten out of the vehicle, and the truck hit the SUV driver and a passenger, who both died at the scene. The other two people who had been in the Infiniti when it rolled were taken to a hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
